Introduction

Over the next series of documents we will develop an online bulletin board. The layout of the board should be familiar to users of the Usenet newsgroups. The major difference between web-based and traditional newsgroups is that it is easier to restrict access to the former.

I am assuming that you have a reasonable knowledge of Cold Fusion - if not see the previous article Introduction to Cold Fusion.

This application borrows many of my favourite features from both Allaire's Forums and Megaboard. It took under two days to write and about five days spread over as many months to document!

With the exception of the actual database, you can download all of the scripts and images used for this application.
