Hello

Is there a script out there that you could insert in a page and would tell for a different file, when it was last updated. It would use not its own but another file's index of when it was last saved?

I am looking for a script not a server script as the server I use is very "touchy - feely"

Martin

Well

After a couple of years I am a bit wiser in this matter as I have indulged myself in learning PHP. Javascript does NOT have the possibility to read other files' properties on the server. It just isn't possible. However this is very, very easy using PHP and I have used it in many many cases. As many servers now support PHP (and it is quite simple to setup)I would very much recommend this way.
If you would like an example write to me.

Chiao
