This particular suggestion is useless.
It is a nice supplementary footnote, but a proper answer would be how to create a graphical button in Java 1.1

If you can't get people to install a SWING plugin... you can't use Swing. Similarly, if they're stuck with 1.0 or 1.1, you can't get them to use 1.2!

Absolutely useless. Its about as good as asking "why doesnt xxxx feature work in netscape?" answer: "use internet explorer"

This doesnt answer any question. The question is, How to make an Image into a button USING JAVA.AWT.. not JAVAX.SWING.
