Using IIS5.0 that comes with windows 2000 advanced server you do not need to set a response.buffer = true . this is only needed for IIS4.0 and lower

This FAQ is a very lucid explanation of redirection. I have a further question, though. I would actually LIKE to send content ALONG WITH a redirect, specifically a cookie. Won't the browser (assuming it's a recent one) ignore everything but the redirect, though? If so, do you know how I can, from the server side, deposit some info at the client, or get the client to INCLUDE it in the redirect, and redirect WITHOUT the client person seeing anything on his screen. The redirect is, of course, an "external" one. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Charlie
