It seems to me that there are two problems with this FAQ. One is that the var name=''; line should be var name='myCookieName';

But, more importantly, there is a flaw in the concept (or at least in the description of it) in that a page does not retrieve ALL THE COOKIES on the users machine -- so a cookie created independently like this does not get transmitted to the page where you are checking it... Isn't it true that the script that generates the cookie must actually first be imbedded in the page, run once for you on your machine, then removed before anyone else runs it?
