Q2062 How do I add meta information to images?

Meta information in graphics currently cannot be read by search engines. The PNG spec allows the embedding of text-based info, but there are right now no consumer software products capable of writing such info.

It is expected that as PNG becomes more widely supported - and after software tools hit the market to embed meta info - that search engines will begin indexing them.

However, search engines will need to upgrade their software in order to read embedded meta info.
