Q846 What the advantages/disadvantages of using VBScript over JavaScript or Dynamic HTML?

Advantages to JavaScript:

• Netscape Navigator and Opera do not support VBScript - and are unlikely to ever support it.
• Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator and Opera support JavaScript.
• Netscape runs on more platforms than Explorer.
• There is more documentation on JavaScript.
• Learning JavaScript helps when you come to learn Java.

Advantages to VBScript:

• If you know Visual Basic - then learning VBScript is easier than learning JavaScript.

Dynamic HTML is just an extension to JavaScript or VBScript - it is not another language.
