: I received the following question on the HTML FAQ:
: <quote>
: Is there a limit to the number of entries in a <SELECT> tag?

: I have a large database application that will run on some machines with 16-bit OS and Netscape versions 3.04 and 4.03.

: I have found that 2,666 entries will load fine. However, on the 2,667th entry both browsers come back with a Netscape out of memory error. It is easy enough to add code to prevent this many entries, but I do not want to limit through code it this is only related to my machine configuration.
: </quote>

: Any help would be greatly appreciated,

It sound as though the error message is telling him exactly what is wrong. Netscape is running out of memory. I would suggest adding more memory to his machine and seeing if he can add the last select entry.
