I've tried using
A:link {background: black; color: white}
A:active {background; black: color: red}
A:visited {background: transparent; color: black}
as you suggest but the A:active won't work. No matter what colour I put in the active link is always red. The A:link and A:visited work fine. Why is this? I'm using Netscape 4.04 16 bit. Thanks Bill
