solved my earlier problem:
1 - was not putting correct string in details document (should have been framespage.htm?detailspage rather than framespage.htm?framename
2- was testing locally online (Personal Web server over http, but both IE4 & NS4 won't work. On a server on the Web the same files worked fine.
Probably the only thing that still confuses me is the vaying amount of brackets you have between your instructions & examples ?
