Things are going fast on the Web, but one year later your analysis is still valid.
Communities are mostly an american concept. It is maybe another reason why the other countries are reluctant to use the Web...
You mention the different access possibilities (28.8 kb modems to ADSL) and accessibiliy to handicap people. The sites' contents will be richer with the help of new multimedia technologies and adapted so that the site may be displayed through slow accesses, and it will the end of do-it-yourself-at-home sites. The Web will be just like our softwares, standardized.
