=====================

Steps to Java Internationalization (i18n)
http://www.irt.org/articles/js179/index.htm
With Internationalization your Java applications can be adapted to
various languages and regions without code changes. The term
internationalization is abbreviated as i18n, because there are 18
letters between the first 'i' and the last 'n'. Support for new
languages does not require recompilation or code changes! Written by
Azzam and Kaesar Alnijres.

The Amazing ActiveX - Part 1
http://www.irt.org/articles/js178/index.htm
ActiveX is Microsoft's patented Windows technology that allows you to
load a type of applet into your web browser. These applets are very
much the same as Java Applets and can add an incredible amount of
dynamics to your web page - By Ryan Detert.

Apache at your Web Service
http://www.irt.org/articles/js177/index.htm
A World-Wide Web (Web) server is a program that provides information
to the client on request. One of the most powerful and widely-used Web
server in use today, Apache, is discussed by Pankaj Kamthan.

SVG - What's in it for us?
http://www.irt.org/articles/js176/index.htm
This article, by Janus Boye, will first cover the exciting
functionality that SVG brings to the Web, then discuss the advantages
of being an XML-based graphics format, and then finally some words and
predictions about the future of SVG.

E-Store on the Web : Let's Go Shopping!
http://www.irt.org/articles/js175/index.htm
E-commerce over the World-Wide Web (Web) is a rapidly evolving and
proliferating field. Establishing an electronic store (e-store) makes
selling on the Web a reality. Pankaj Kamthan discusses issues involved
in deploying an e-store, using the software PerlShop as a prototype.

Creating a Page Counter In Perl
http://www.irt.org/articles/js174/index.htm
In this article Jason Nugent describes a counter that can be run as a
Server Side Include. Essentially that means writing a Perl script that
will run each time the page is loaded and its output will contain a
line of text indicating how many people have seen the page.

Flag as a symbol of language - stupidity or insult?
http://www.irt.org/articles/js173/index.htm
Jukka Korpela describes why you should be wary about using country
flags to indicate text in different languages

JavaScript DOM BugAThon
http://www.mozilla.org/newlayout/bugathon.html
mozilla.org and the Gecko team need JavaScripters! Do you know
JavaScript? Do you want to help mozilla.org in the fight for open
standards and open source? Here's your chance! We need JavaScript
developers to help simplify JavaScript Document Object Model (DOM) bug
reports down to simple-as-possible test cases. This will help the
Gecko engineers fix DOM bugs faster and make sure your JavaScript web
pages work flawlessly when Navigator 5 ships! Read about the Gecko
BugAThon at http://www.mozilla.org/newlayout/bugathon.html, then dive
into Vidur's JavaScript DOM bug list at
http://www.mozilla.org/newlayout/bugathon.html#dom.

New JavaScript W3C DOM category in Open Directory
http://dmoz.org/Computers/Programming/Languages/JavaScript/W3C_DOM/
Do you want to learn about writing JavaScript with the W3C Document
Object Model (DOM)? Do you want to find the Internet's best articles,
TechNotes, and sample code on the W3C DOM? Then visit the new Netscape
Open Directory category for JavaScript programming with the W3C DOM at
http://dmoz.org/Computers/Programming/Languages/JavaScript/W3C_DOM/
Know a good resource? Submit it! Better yet, join as a category
co-editor yourself and help index the web's W3C DOM JavaScript
resources!

Are your CGIs ready for HTTP 1.1 CONTENT_TYPE?
http://developer.netscape.com/viewsource/index_frame.html?content=krock_v5.html
The HTTP 1.0 CONTENT_TYPE line looked like this:
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded

The HTTP 1.1 CONTENT_TYPE line looks like this:
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=ISO-8859-1

In the interest of being standards-compliant and supporting multiple
languages, Navigator 5 will support this feature of HTTP
1.1. Improperly designed CGI scripts that aren't forward-compatible
with this change to the HTTP protocol will need to be fixed to support
HTTP 1.1. Make sure your CGI scripts are ready for the HTTP 1.1
CONTENT_TYPE header.
